The site is located in east County Limerick adjacent to the Slieve Felim Mountains.
It is proposed to locate five 1.5MW turbines along a ridgeline to exploit
the predominant south-westerly wind that comes in from the North Atlantic.
The project will produce enough electricity to power 8000 Irish houses. The
grid connection will be via an 11km overhead line to the ESB sub-station
at Cappamore. Planning permission was awarded in mid 2003 with construction
scheduled for the first quarter of 2006.
